Christina Cox

Christina Cox

was born on July 31, 1971 and raised just outside of Toronto, Canada. She is the youngest of three girls.

Christina found her passion for dance early in life, and attended the prestigious high school, Arts York at Unionville. Originally, she double-majored in dance and theater, but ultimately focused on what was her first love, modern dance, with the intent of pursuing a professional career. It became readily apparent, though, that the pure physicality of dance would likely prove taxing enough to result in a short-lived career.

Not wanting to risk ending her career by the age of 30, Christina decided to shift her direction in high school and again pursued coursework in theatre arts. With her powerful presence and beauty, the stage spotlight embraced Christina, and she quickly discovered that she had a natural affinity for theatre. Christina continued her theatrical education while attending the Ryerson Theatre School of Toronto. During her college career, she acted in many productions, including Twelfth Night, The Comedy of Errors, Road and Moliere's Women.

After college, Christina moved to Los Angeles in the late 90's. Her career began to take off as she landed a number of guest appearances on shows such as Andromeda, The Chris Isaak Show, She Spies, The Crow Series, and Stargate SG-1. In 1996, she landed one of the lead roles in the hot new TV series F/X: The Series which later earned her a nomination for a Gemini Award for her outstanding performance as Angela "Angie" Ramirez in the final episode, Red Storm.

Christina then broke through to National fame in 1999 as Kim in the Canadian romantic comedy Better Than Chocolate. Her performance earned her two People's Choice Awards: the first at Toronto's Inside Out Festival, and the second at the London Film Festival.

In 2004, Christina gained national exposure playing opposite Vin Diesel in the high voltage Sci-Fi action film The Chronicles of Riddick. Her role was the gun-wielding, kick ass mercenary Eve Logan.

Also in 2004, Christina traveled to New Orleans to film the UPN TV pilot Nikki & Nora, in which Christina plays Nora Delaney, a New Orleans homicide detective. The Nikki & Nora pilot never saw air time, but even four years after being made, it's a highly sought after show by Christina's fans.

In 2006, Christina again landed a TV series lead for Lifetime's supernatural series Blood Ties. Based upon the vampire novels by Tanya Huff, she played private eye Vicki Nelson, who specialized in non-traditional cases often involving the occult.

Christina's most recent performances have been guest appearances on highly acclaimed TV shows such as House, M.D., Cold Case, and CSI: Miami. In the summer 2008, she guest -starred in an episode of Stargate Atlantis titled Whispers, featuring for the first time, an all female team. Christina also appeared in a wildly popular web-delivered series named 3Way in which she and former Nikki & Nora co-star Liz Vassey reprise very similar roles in a cop show included in the series called Ladycops.

Overall, Christina has more than 45 movies and TV appearances to her credit, in addition to her extensive background in theatre work while in college.

When Christina is not acting, she has many passions. She is trained in Tae Kwon Do, Muay Thai Kick boxing, competitive gymnastics, modern dance, motorcycle riding and is a certified scuba diver.
